"I know a
couple of things that have really benefited my team: ~First dedicate player general roles,
i.e.; Navigator/ planner& Point keeper is one role, while driver as
anoter role, and time keeper is another.. ~Have multiple camera's, and ensure
everyone in the car knows how to opperate them ~When you stop the car, try to get
many task(s) done at each stop. Divide and conquer if possible. It
doesn't work at each stop, but it does at many!
Along with that, some stops are
not worth making. If you have to choose between a 3 point stop that
slows you way down, it might be better served to stay on course a couple
of easy 2 point stops.
Also try to make stops that make
it easy to get back on the road, minimize having to cross traffic in
busy area's unless again there are multiple point options. ~Dont be shy! The people you meet
don't know you, and they will laugh with you. Ask the locals for
insider info., tell them what you are up to and what you need ...and
amazingly they usually help a lot!
I can't emphasize this enough,
DONT BE SHY! Do things you would not normally do, just let go and be a
kid! Everyone along the run is doing things they would not normally and
thats what its all about.
~I hate to give this one up, but
watch what others are doing. Get the points they do, they did the hard
work now just copy them.
I will think more about how to
phrase other things we do, but we choose to play to win and we run hard
laughing most of the way. Some choose to play when they want to not
win, which is fine also"
"If you do all he said and hustle, drink lot's of energy drinks, be aware of what the other cars are doing, and toss a few water balloons you'll do great! :-)"
"One thing that I think really helped ourteam the first year was matching outfits. Sounds silly, but when strangers see youall pile out of the car with the same tee shirt it lends a little credibility to your request to beflashed or whatever you’re doing to that department store mannequin andtaking pictures with a digital camera!Oh, and make sure you have a tire gaugeand know how to use it……….."
"Time management is very important not only so you make the check points in time, but there are times that you just have to skip or give up on a task that is eating up time. The other important element in my opinion is have all team members on the same page as far as strategy, prioritization, and goals."
"With all of this precise synchronization at eachstop that consideration into how many doors your car has, how easily you canmove in and out of your car as well as how many team members you can fit inyour car and still be able to keep track of stuff (cameras etc.) can play afactor and should be considered in your auto selection process."
