DUMBALL RALLY 2012 - CANADA OR BUST.....EH!
July 11 - 13th, 2012. This will include two days of hard driving through some beautiful terrain through the great state of Washington then a ferry trip for the final leg on foot in the great city of Victoria. Since we will be crossing an international border, all participants will need to have all proper documentation to enter Canada. Teams will be competing for a cash award as well as a variety of prizes. Spots will be limited to 10 cars. We will keep the $1000 vehicle price cap in place as before. A team fee of $50 will secure your spot and then there will be a $100 per player fee. These fees will be covering the cost of prizes, swag, supplies, and most importantly the safety vehicle(s). Registration dates will be announced shortly.
We would also like to announce a second class for first timers that can use any vehicle. FauxBallers if you will. These spots will be extremely limited and will be competing for a separate prize package. The same fees as above will apply. We will still recommend these teams have a theme.
A Dumball Lite event is in the works for early March for those who need an introduction, tune-up, or just can't hack the rigors of our big rally. More info will be out shortly about this event as well.

Zombified won Best Theme in a landslide and Mutt'N'Cutts grabbed the Least Likely to Finish award.Biggest effort came from Bad Habits to raise well over $500 for charity and the entire rally raised over $1000. What is Dumball Rally USA?
Quite simply it’s a one way beater car endurance challenge / scavenger hunt spanning over 1000 miles. Three days of oddball challenges, small town charms, and offbeat camaraderie designed to challenge people to experience things out of the norm, all in a vehicle that should have been crushed years ago. Up for grabs will be a sweet trophy and $500. One former participant describes it as “It's a rolling scavenger hunt with crazy competitions that push us to the limits of fun and sanity."
To participate locate a cheap or free car, find some crazy co-conspirators and get busy decorating, cutting up, or repairing your vehicle. Spend as little as possible, but not more than $1000.00 on it. Have it ready to roll for July. Bring along with a handful of digital camera’s so you can prove your willingness to accomplish as many bizarre tasks as possible. Past challenges have included but are not limited to photos of ourselves posing with statues, eating contests, gathering local treasures, getting strangers to write on team members with markers, and so on. Competition has been fierce so you need to be creative in the search for points.
We do not condone speeding so the schedule is generous. Don't lag too far behind or you risk losing major points. We need to be courteous of of our fellow participants and all traffic laws.
Don't worry too much about breaking down, we will have safety vans to follow along and pick up those stranded as a result of automotive failure.
Canada or Bust .....EH! marks the fifth successive year of our Dumball Rally. We have a wide mix of participant’s and encourage anyone interested to give it a try. Yeah, there are loads of trophies and prizes. But the incredible memories to be had are the real draw. Every player will get a some cool swag.
Ultimately our goal is to have one whale of a road trip and raise money for a couple worthy charities such as freekibble.com and kars4kids.com. We can help dispose of the car for cash at the end of the event, and hope you will contribute to our chosen charities.
In the spring of 2012 we are planning to do a local run open to any car, and families so people can get a taste for what they have been missing, or to keep their team in practice for the main event.
